Young & Early Career Researchers (Y/ECR) – First Meeting

The Artistic Intelligence Action invites for a first meeting for members of the network who are either Young Researchers, Innovators or Early Career Researchers. The purpose of this meeting is to share information about the new initiative and create an opportunity for Y/ECR members to connect across working groups.

Over the past two decades, a growing number of researchers have worked across the boundaries of academia, artistic practice, and the cultural sector. While this has opened up new possibilities for addressing societal challenges, institutional structures have not always evolved at the same pace - particularly for young and early career researchers, who often face precarious working conditions and limited long-term perspectives.

What we will discuss

The session will focus on four key areas:

Addressing precarity

  • Exploring more stable and diverse career pathways in artistic research

Building networks and strategies

  • Developing long-term visions supported by sustainable and diverse funding models

Expanding research contexts

  • Imagining forms of artistic research that extend beyond institutional constraints

Strengthening skills

  • Identifying interdisciplinary competencies needed for evolving career landscapes

Why join?

This meeting is an opportunity to:

  • Share experiences and challenges across different contexts
  • Contribute to shaping future Y/ECR activities within the Action
  • Connect with peers and initiate potential collaborations
  • Help define priorities that will inform upcoming events such as training schools, workshops, and mobility opportunities
