COST Action Artistic Intelligence
Invitation to give input at the second meeting for WG4
Rome Thursday 25th and Friday 26th September.
During the first meeting for Working Group 4 (WG4) of the COST Action Artistic Intelligence at the University of Porto in April, the following focus areas were identified as possible first stage activities:
- Mapping Status of AI policies in relation to AR / Art Practices / Cultural Creative Industries;
- Societal Impact of AR;
- Legal Dimension/Challenges for AI in relation to AR /
Art Practices / Cultural Creative Industries, including
Copyright Challenges; - Advice on Strengthening AR Referencing;
- Creating External Alliances – Freedom of Expression
In addition, the issue of creating a mapping on Status for AR for certain countries in Europe was discussed – but not concluded.
In the upcoming meeting we will follow up on (some of) these focus areas, and invite you to send us an abstract for a presentation at this meeting on one of these topics – or introducing an additonal topic you consider relevant for this WG, see the attached Tasks and Activities for WG4.
The presentation should be within a frame of approx. 10 minutes. We will provide for one or two longer presentations (45 min) – and you are also welcome to present an abstract for this format.
Selection for reimbursement of travel expenses will be made based on the proposals received for input at the meeting. In addition, selection will be based on the standard COST criteria: Balance of gender, career stage and country of residence.
The deadline for sending your proposal is set for 31.07.2024.
Confirmation of travel reimbursement will be given around mid-August
The meeting will take place at ABAROMA-Academy of Fine Arts Rome, starting on Thursday 25th at 10:30 CEST and ending on Friday 26th in the evening. The meeting will be coordinated with the European Researchers' Night organised by ABAROMA.
A detailed agenda will be distributed after summer.
We will also discuss how to strengthen communication among the WG-members between our onsite meetings.
