This STSM residency investigates trans-species intelligence through experimental intersections of vegetal bio-signals, embodied choreography, sonic systems, and physical AI. It approaches intelligence as a distributed, relational process emerging across human, plant, and machine interactions, challenging extractivist and anthropocentric models of sensing, data, and cognition. As a temporary experimental laboratory dedicated to iterative artistic research, and through embodied experimentation, it will develop choreographic and sonic protocols that translate vegetal bio-electrical activity into movement and sound-based interactions. aniara rodado is an artist, choreographer and researcher from the Caribbean and Andes, based in France. Her countercolonial practice explores bodies, plants, substances, technologies and territories through situated forms of experimentation. She holds a PhD in Arts-Sciences from Institut Polytechnique de Paris and teaches at ESAAA. Luca Forcucci is an artist and composer focusing on sound in the arts and perception. His research is informed by fieldwork in Southern and Western Africa, Brazil, Japan, India, and China, through the (re)combination of ancestral technologies and knowledge with contemporary ones. Forcucci holds a PhD in Music, Technology and Innovation from De Montfort University (UK), an MA in Sonic Arts from Queen’s University Belfast, and a professional background in architecture and neuroscience. |
